Will My Child Be Safe at College?

Saturday, June 18th, 2011

If your son or daughter is going away to college this fall, then you probably are already planning on what you need to send with them.  You have the college dorm checklist bring important things that are going to fit into the college sized dorm room.  Here are some of the basics to keep in mind when it comes time to move your teen off to college.  The first things you need to consider for your college kid is the size of their dorm room and what things their school does allow and doesn’t allow in their rooms.

Some schools will allow hot plates, microwaves, and toaster ovens, while others won’t allow these items in the rooms. The first place to begin is by starting with things that your son or daughter already has.  Often times, they will have favorite bedding, carpets, decorations, and other little things that they really enjoy at home.  Starting out with familiar sheets will give your college kid a sense of home comfort that new sheets will not.  Save the new sheets for when your college kid gets adjusted.  Once you have established what you have for your college kid’s room, it is time to start looking at things that you need to purchase.

A microwave, mini-fridge, and a laptop are all great things to make sure your college kids has.  Inside of their room you should add bedding, carpets, drapes, and posters that they really enjoy.  One often forgot item that is really important as well is to make sure that your college kid has a selection of towels and other bathroom items at their disposal.  A laundry bag or hamper is a wonderful thing to add to the college dorm checklist bring items.  It will make your teen’s life easier when they have a place for dirty laundry.  On your kid’s college desk, there should be a bright light or full spectrum light that they can work by, there should be an assortment of unique writing utensils, papers, and a printer for last minute printing needs on their way to school.

When it comes to personal items, your teen should have a toiletry bag that can carry all their items.  They should also have their own stock of toilet paper and tissues as well.  For their personal items, they should have shower shoes, shampoo, soap or body wash, brushes for hair, body, and teeth, tooth paste and their other bathroom essentials that all fit easily into a toiletry bag they can carry with them back and forth between the bathroom and their room.  The key with planning for your kid’s college dorm room is keeping everything portable and organized.  It is better that they come equipped with simple items that are easy to carry and easy to replace until they have adjusted to dorm life.  The college dorm checklist bring list should be simple and complete.

Thoughts and concerns about crime in the downtown St. Louis urban community…

Its amazing how much violence you see on the news these days.  Its getting to be worse than actually violent movies sometimes.  I know they’re just doing it to make people scared, but its working.  I get nervous being outside my own house at night now.  We’ve never had any kind of violent crime in my neighborhood, but I still can’t shake the feeling that we’re not safe anymore.  I guess I need to do something about that because we can’t be living our lives in fear.  I need to find a place where I can buy personal protection products St. Louis .

I’m not about to go out and get a gun or anything, but there are some far less lethal methods that are still capable of stopping someone from harming you.  I’m not sure what exactly I want to get yet, but I figure I can go take a look and maybe get a professionals opinion on the matter.  I suppose this is something I could talk to a cop about.  I wonder how you go about getting advice from a cop.  That’s not really something you call 911 for.  I wouldn’t want to bother them at the police station either.  They’re pretty busy as it is.  I just need one of them to tell me what would be good to get and where I could buy personal protection products St. Louis.

Maybe I could just catch one on a break somewhere.  I guess I could hang around donut shops for a while.  I just need a good, reliable source of information about how I can buy something that will help me to protect myself should I end up in a dangerous situation.

I think it’s something that everyone should take the initiative to lean about at some point.  I need something that I wouldn’t be afraid to use, and even my kids would be able to handle it.  I don’t want them playing with it or anything, but if it came down to it I want them to be able to defend themselves too.  Maybe I should sign everyone up for self defense classes.  We could do that in addition to finding someplace to buy personal protection products St. Louis. That would be good for when we don’t have our personal protection gear with us for some reason. I imagine that would happen a lot when we are away from home.  It would be nice to be able to defend myself with my bare hands too in case I drop whatever it is I’m to get or something.  I thing that sounds like a good plan.  I am going to do a little more research about all of this online.

My Daughter Now Has Personal Protection On Urban Street

Friday, June 17th, 2011

Security is a very important thing for my family.  We just moved to a different town because the town in which we were living in was dangerous place.  My mom says that now that I am going to college I should get an urban street defense program to learn how to defend myself and to protect my family.  I think that the situation worldwide is getting worse every day and people are becoming more evil every day that goes by.  I think that we need to be prepared for any life threatening situation that may be present.

College and university campuses can be very dangerous especially for female students living in dorms and off campus apartments. My daughter has a friend who was surrounded by five men attempting to rob and sexually assault her. She had to run as fast as she could to escape being harmed by these urban thugs. She barely escaped that terrifying situation and now learns as much as she can about urban street defense.

My grandma used to say that people before were not as bad as people nowadays.  She says that in the early 1900s people respected each other and were not willing to do any harm to others.  Now just the act of going out of your house puts your life in danger.  That is extremely awful because you would like to be in a peaceful place but I think that that is impossible to find these days.  My mom really loves me and wants only the best for me and for my sister.  That is why she would like me to learn some self defense techniques to that I may know how to protect myself and to protect my family in these dangerous times we live in.

I think it is also important to have the right equipment to protect yourself.  One of the things I need is a non lethal self defense products kit.  Some of my friends told me that I should look on the Internet to find the defense products kit I need.  I did and I found this website.  This is exactly what I needed.  I am going to go to college very soon and I want to be prepared for any dangerous situation.  I want to know everything about urban street defense.  I am sure that my mom is going to be really happy to know that I am well equipped and trained to face any life-threatening situation in an urban college environment such as St. Louis, Mo.

Personal Protection For Women

Wednesday, May 25th, 2011

College is a scary time for the students and the parents alike.  For students, it’s their first time all alone in the world, without mommy and daddy to rely on and to help them should the need arise.  For parents, their baby is flying away from the nest, and without parental supervision for the first time in their life.  For girls a Self-Defense Kit For Women is a must have.

Therefore, parents try to prepare their child for every possible situation and stock their dorm room full of things to help them should the situation arise and they don’t have the comforts of home to help them.  Mini fridges are stocked full of milk, sodas, energy drinks for the occasional all night study session, and of course, with wholesome foods like fruits, homemade cookies and brownies, baked with love, and other staples to get kids through the first semester away from home.  Care packages filled with home bake sweets will add to the freshman fifteen, a curse that plagues all students away from home.

Once the fridge is well stocked with food, parents turn to outfitting the desk for optimal studying, seeing as they won’t be around to help encourage doing homework and good studying, and discourage procrastinating.  Bright new desk lamps shine onto fancy new laptops with built in web cams to enable Skype conversations with mom and dad at home. Brand new mechanical pencils fill a mug with sentimental memories from home and fancy guides to help survive the first semester at college line the bookshelves.  Crisp new textbooks are stacked on the desk, all ready for the new classes, and notebooks full of clean notebook paper sit on the other corner.  The desk is perfectly prepared for the first year at college, and making the most of studies.  The wall are adorned with pictures and a multitude of posters to try and make the sterile dorm room more house-like, and similar to their room back home.  A framed picture of the family is always slipped onto the dresser or bookshelf, to remind the student of their family back home.  The bedding is always an important part of the room: a new, mature comforter to replace the one left behind at home.  A rug lies on the floor, to make the cold tile warmer in the early morning.

Once the room is as comfortable as possible, parents make sure their child has a sick kit and a Self-Defense Kit For Women to keep them safe for every situation that arises.  Band-aids and antiseptic abound, plus cough drops and Advil or Tylenol.  Parents lose the chance to take care of their sick child when they are at school, so they make sure they have everything to combat everything from cuts to common cold to the flu or a fever.  There are lots of tissues and a card with emergency numbers listed for every possible health center:  the college infirmary, the hospital, minor emergency clinic, dentist, and eye doctor.  The card will invariably get lost in the mess and clutter of a typical college dorm, but its presence is reassuring to the parents in thinking their child will be able to get the proper help if needed.

In addition to the basic first aid kit, parents include a simple mechanic kit, with a hammer, screwdriver, and pocket knife, because one can never know when those will be useful.  Parents of female students will include a whistle with the hope that their daughter will wear it faithfully around her neck to signal for danger, as well as carrying along pepper spray (part of any Self -Defense Kit For Women) in her purse, and never walking alone after dark.  A Self-Defense Kit For Women is something that can be bought very inexpensively.

Students who have a car at college will find their car stocked with bottled water, a blanket, a spare tire, an extra insurance card, a flashlight, and anything a parent could think of that would be helpful in case the car should break down.  As for clothes, students will take a mix of new and old clothes: some students will need new clothes for a change in climate, heavy coats for the California kids going east, and tank tops and sandals for the Boston kids moving to the south.  Kids will want to keep clothes from home for sentimental reasons, shirts from sports teams and the plethora of SENIOR shirts to remember the last year in high school.

Parents can not protect their children when they are away at school, so they try and make sure they have everything they’ll need to take care of themselves as they venture out into the real world all by themselves for the first time, by giving them the perfect Self-Defense Kit For Woman.

St. Louis City Most Dangerous City in America

Saturday, March 19th, 2011

Another innocent victim is shot and killed while driving her car through St. Louis City. Random shootings and senseless violence by gun toting thugs is a reality in St. Louis City and surrounding urban downtown communities. St. Louis will remain the most dangerous city in America and doesn’t appear that’ll change for the foreseeable future.

Residents that work, live and travel through St. Louis City must be vigilant about their personal safety. During these difficult economic times and rising gas prices, more and more of us are using public transportation such as MetroLink here in St. Louis to commute. Making the innocent hard working St. Louis citizen even more exposed and vulnerable to being victimized by the urban thugs terrorizing our community.

US News & World Report Says St. Louis Most Dangerous City in America

Saturday, February 19th, 2011

US News & World Report acknowledges crime rates in the United States have dropped in the past two decades but violent crime remains an alarming problem in some of the largest urban areas. St. Louis, MO has a  crime rate that is more than quadruple the national figure. Residents of St. Louis City, North County and students attending urban universities are continuously victimized by street thugs. It’s a must for anyone walking the streets these days, carry some form of  personal protection such as Wildfire pepper spray or Taser C2 as self defense against an attacker.

An analysis of FBI data shows which cities in the United States have the highest overall incidence of crime, relative to the national rate. The analysis of FBI data was performed by Onboard Informatics from FBI crime reporting data of the most recent seven years. This data includes property crime, such as burglary and motor vehicle theft, as well as violent crime. An index score of 100 is equal to the national crime rate, meaning that St. Louis, for example, with a an index of 530, has a crime rate more than quadruple the national average, scary!

Safety Tips for College Students to Avoid Being Victimized

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

Students heading off to college are typically going to live in a dorm, apartment or off-campus university housing. Unfortunately, criminals are fully aware of the vulnerability of these young female students and target college campuses and nearby housing complexes.  There are many safety tips for college students and non-lethal self defense products available online that will protect you from being victimized by criminals.

Of course one of the most common safety tips for college students is to travel in groups or pairs when traveling across campus especially at night. These safety tips for college students are great advice but it is not always an option particularly when so many female college students are living in off-campus university housing.  That’s why it’s recommended that college students should always carry some form of  self defense to safeguard against being victimized by an attacker.

Defense Sprays or pepper sprays are a good choice for a college student because they are lightweight, easy to conceal and not lethal to an attacker.  pepper spray is a very effective means of non-lethal self defense and offers piece of mind to the students as well as the parents.  It is stressful enough for parents to know that their children are away from home and often in unpredictable situations, so if their child is armed with a canister of pepper spray, it will help knowing their college daughter is not defenseless against an attacker.

Safety tips for college students should include a personal alarm.  personal alarms are made in many different versions but most are compact and easy to carry.  Personal alarms are designed to emit ear piercing decibels of sound and give most assailants no desire to stick around.  Some alarms are also designed to be hung on a door knob so they can also serve as off-campus apartment or dorm room protection.

Self defense and personal protection products offer an inexpensive and effective means of safety when college students are subject to the cruelties of criminals.  Safety tips for college students and personal protection devices are usually the furthest thought from both young and older students but should never be overlooked. Non-lethal personal protection and safety devices should be added to every female college student’s “back to school” list of supplies.  It only takes one assailant and one defenseless college student to impact many lives, for many years.

Non-Lethal Self Defense Weapons

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

Today, carrying personal protection to guard against being victimized is something we all must do for self defense. With violent crime and news of attacks being rampant, there is nothing more important than knowing how to effectively protect yourself and your family against an attacker.  For this reason, non-lethal self defense weapons were designed. Non-lethal self defense weapons will effectively protect you from an attacker but you must be equipped with the knowledge of  how to use non-lethal self defense weapons correctly. When choosing  non-lethal self defense weapons, it’s important to select one that you’re comfortable in using when needed to defend yourself from an assailant.

stun guns are one of the most effective and efficient non-lethal self defense weapons available online. These  non- lethal self defense weapons use electricity to temporarily incapacitate an attacker on whom it is applied. When applied to an attacker’s body, it works to disrupt his brain’s communication system by sending various signals all at the same time.  It makes the muscles work rapidly resulting in a loss of energy and confusion rendering him momentarily immobilized. Since this device uses the high voltage low amperage technology, there’s no permanent damage to the assailant. Stun guns such as the Stun Master 1.2 Million Volt pen stun gun are an inexpensive but very effective as non-lethal self defense weapons.

There have been a few common concerns when it comes to stun gun safety. Many buyers are worried that the electrical current will pass on to them while using non-lethal self defense weapons such as a stun gun. Let me assure you, this can’t happen and I’ll explain the reasons now.

Again, stun guns work on high voltage but low amperage technology.  High voltage is not harmful.  The amps are. One amp can kill a person.  Most stun guns only have 3 milliamps.  This is the reason why stun guns do not cause permanent damage on a person’s body.  When the electricity is dumped into your attacker’s body, it dissipates within his muscles alone so you will not be electrified even if he grabs on to you.

The effect of these non-lethal self defense weapons stun is localized only to the area where you applied it and will not pass through the body.  Even if you stand on water, you will never be “electrocuted.”  This device is designed to be used as non-lethal personal protection keeping your safety in mind.  It has probes or prongs attached at the end which transmits electricity and converting it into fraction of volts.  When it is in contact with the skin, it is reduced to an even lesser voltage as it travels through your assailant’s nervous system.  Non-lethal self defense weapons like the Stun Master Hot Shot 4.5 Million Volt Stun Gun, are state-of-the-art non-lethal self defense weapons, designed to instantly stop and take down an attacker without causing harm to the user…You!

Non-lethal self defense weapons such as a Runt 4.5 Million Volt rechargeable stun gun are completely safe for you to use and once you know the right way, it will definitely work to your advantage.  These are effective non-lethal self defense weapons which will protect yourself or maybe a daughter at college from being victimized by a creep. Avoid becoming a victim by carrying  non-lethal self defense weapons like the Pretender 4.5 Million Volt  cell phone stun gun at all times.

Most Effective Stun Gun

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011

The Pretender is a very compact stun gun and is considered to be a most effective stun gun. The Pretender is brilliantly disguised as a cell phone and any thug that dares attack you will be greeted with 4.5 million volts of total and complete Whup-Ass!

stun guns are small handy devices with two or more prongs which conduct an electrical charge.  This charge, when applied for 3 to 5 seconds on an attacker, will disable the creep from 5 to 10 minutes, buying the victim time to safely escape and contact police.

There are so many manufacturers of these self defense devices in the market today.  Aside from that, there are so many selections to choose from.  So, how will you decide which of these types are suitable for you?  So far, the most effective stun gun is the Pretender Cell Phone 4.5 Million Volt Stun Gun.

It is called a Pretender because it is disguised as something that it is not.  It looks just like any other everyday cell phone but in reality it’s a stun gun that emits a charge of 4.5 million volts.  Two levels of safety are built into this device to prevent discharging accidentally.  There’s a safety switch that is flipped only when you are about to use it and a trigger button.  The Pretender may also be disguised as a bright 12 led flashlight.  It measures 4 inches in length, 2 inches in width, and an inch thick, making it easy to carry and conceal.  There is also a pretender stun gun disguised as a lipstick and it measures only 3 and 5/8 inches long and 7/8 inch in diameter that also functions as a LED flashlight. Another most effective stun gun is the Stun Master Hot Shot which is sleek and compact and can easily be mistaken for a BlackBerry smartphone but will unleash 4.5 million volts of  electricity that’ll stop any attacker instantly.

Stun guns are non-lethal self defense weapons and will not cause any permanent damage when applied against an assailant. Also, the user of a most effective stun gun will not be shocked if any part of your body is touching the attacker.
