The following story is a scary reminder of the importance of planning the best in home self defense…
I heard a chilling story yesterday that I feel compelled to share with you. A man and his wife had recently adopted a dog. When the man left one morning, his wife was in the shower, and she was surprised to hear the dog start barking.
Loud, non-stop barking. She hadn’t heard the dog bark in the 2 weeks they had owned it. So she put on a bath robe and went out to find the dog standing by the front door, still barking.
She looked out the window, and then opened up the door but didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. The dog kept barking, and the woman got a sudden chill down her spine.
She knew that something was wrong, but didn’t know what to do. So she went to her room, locked the door, and dialed 911. After explaining her dog’s strange behavior and her location, she was told: “Get out of the house. . .Get out as fast as you can.” And then the terrified woman understood. The dog wasn’t barking at the front door, he was barking at the closet next to the front door.
Because hiding inside of that closet was a man with bad intentions who had broken into 13 other homes in the neighborhood in the last week.
I am happy to report the woman made it out alive. This incident has changed the woman’s life forever. She has been scared into taking control of her personal protection. She recently took a self defense class because she refuses to feel that helpless feeling again. The Taser C2 is a non-lethal alternative to a handgun and is just as effective. Two men robbed near Metro station last night.
These are dangerous times in the St. Louis metropolitan community particularly for those of us utilizing metro-transit such as metrolink and metrobus. Freddy started hanging around old man Benson’s sporting goods store when he was just ten years old. Now sixteen, and saving up his cash for college, he ran the cash register on weekends when the owner took a few hours off to spend time with his daughter and grandkids.

She and her father didn’t believe in stashing a gun behind the counter – they didn’t want to run the risk that it might be used against them, or stolen at night and used in some other violent crime.

Suddenly, the man darted toward Freddy, eyes ablaze. He bellowed, “Yeah, You can help me find all the money in your cash register, punk! And when you’re done with that, I want you to come in to the back room and get that safe open!”
Freddy noticed a bulge in the man’s sweatshirt, and didn’t want to risk what might happen if that was any kind of weapon. In a split second, he grabbed the Taser M26C from underneath the counter. Freddy locked the laser sight onto his target and pulled the trigger.
Even though the robber was fifteen feet away, two small darts found their mark and channeled 50,000 volts of electricity over the pair of wires. The criminal collapsed, and Freddy knew from biology class that the attacker’s muscles wouldn’t stop contracting until he was stuck in the fetal position.

Sara loved her job. She just hated the senseless violent crime that frequently occurred in the urban neighborhood.
Managing one of the trendiest nightclubs in St. Louis, she got to spend her evenings rubbing elbows with rock stars, actors, and many of the city’s elite. Her boss converted an old warehouse by the docks into a fantasy world for their guests. It kept costs down, but it also made for a pretty treacherous walk down to the parking lot at 4am.

As he fell, his other hand knocked the Stun Master stun gun away from Sara. It snapped free of the wrist strap and landed on top of him as he curled up on the ground.

Tina didn’t get her job on looks alone. She kicked her attacker in the shin and clocked him on the jaw as a pair of St. Louis police officers raced to the scene of the struggle. She made a mental note to thank her boss for the gift – and to ask for a raise.
