A parent’s perspective on keeping their daughter safe…
I couldn’t believe how the time had flown by. My little girl who it seemed like just yesterday was in elementary school was now graduating from high school and heading off to start her college education. I had a mixture of pride and nervousness because I didn’t know if she would be prepared for the challenges of living a life on campus. So, I did a little research online and found this great college dorm checklist of stuff that every young woman like her should have when they are heading off to college for the first time. Of course we had our own list of stuff that she would need like clothing and a computer, but this other checklist was much more important.
This was a list of all of the things that she would need to be safe while she was living on her own in a dorm room. I studied the college dorm checklist for a little while before I talked to my daughter about it. I wanted to go over the information first so I could explain to her exactly why she would need this stuff and how it would protect her. She thinks that I worry too much but I know that she will need some self defense and safety products while she is living on her own.
So, I finally sat her down and explained to her about the dangers that she might face while she was there. I told her about the products that I had found on the internet that would help prevent her from being attacked or being robbed while she was at college. At first she was a little hesitant to listen but when I explained how all of these self defense products worked she started to pay a lot more attention to what I was saying.
Soon my daughter was going over this college dorm checklist with me and asking a lot of questions. She was particularly interested in the pepper spray because she had never used something like that before. I showed her how she could carry it on her key in order to have easy access to it while she was walking to her car at night or at any other time that she felt vulnerable. Also, they had this book that looked like a safe that she could keep her valuables in. We had never seen anything like that before and it looked really neat. It was nice to know that things like money and credit cards could easily be hidden away to protect her from being robbed. I can sleep so much better at night knowing that my daughter has these items on this checklist to protect her from harm.

The following experience is just one example of the value of investing in some form of personal protection and being prepared…
I can’t believe I’m actually heading off to college this fall. It seems like I’ve been in high school forever, but I finally graduated. Now, I’m getting to go live by myself and make my own rules for a change. It feels really weird to be responsible for my own well being now. I don’t really feel like an adult yet, but I guess that will start changing pretty soon. It makes me a little nervous to know that I’m going to be on my own now. I never really gave much thought to my own safety living with my parents. That was something for them to worry about. Now, all I can thing about is what if someone breaks in or tries to mug me while I’m walking to class or something. I’ve heard it happens all the time even on campus.
My school sent me this college dorm checklist for girls that includes a bunch of self defense stuff. I didn’t think this was all something everyone carried around, but I guess it makes some sense. I’d rather be one of the ones carrying something than not. I’ll have to figure out how everything works before I get there though. You wouldn’t want to be fumbling around with your pepper spray with some guy trying to stab you or something.
I suppose I should really look over that college dorm checklist for girls to see if there’s anything that I think would really work for me. I really haven’t used anything before, but I might be more comfortable with one of them than the others. Maybe I should sign up for a self defense class or something. It wouldn’t hurt to learn some techniques for getting away from somebody. It would certainly help if I forgot my pepper spray or any of the other gadgets they have listed on here. I wonder where I could go to find a self defense teacher.
I’m a little surprised they don’t have self defense classes listed on this college dorm checklist for girls. I thing that would be more important than just carrying around something you don’t know how to use properly. After all, the guy could just wrench it out of your hand or something and use it against you. I’d rather rely on my own hands to take someone down in that situation. They can’t take those away from me too easily. I’ve got a pretty good grip on those suckers. Anyway, I think I’ll go look up some self defense classes and see if I can get them in before heading off to my new school. I’m sure I’ll feel much better about it after I go through some kind of program.

Continued violence in the streets of St. Louis is a valid concern to more and more parents sending their daughter off to college in our urban community. Freshman orientation at our urban universities better include personal security when traveling throughout St. Louis as stated in this observation from one worried parent…
It seems like just yesterday we were sending our little girl off to kindergarten on the school bus. Those years of primary school field trips, middle school dances, and high school football games passed by so quickly. When al the talk of going off to college became a reality, I just couldn’t believe how quickly we had come to this point in our lives. As an only child, our daughter was doted upon and treated like the princess that she is. The thought of her going off to college where she didn’t know anyone was a concern. Thinking about her being there without us for the first time in her life was downright frightening to me. She was thrilled to start this new adventure. She’s a beautiful easy going, fun, down-to-earth young woman, and she had every right to be excited about this new journey she was about to begin. As her mother, I was also excited for her, but I had the normal fears that every parent experiences when they send their children out into the world for the first time. I was anxious and worried, not only about her being happy in this new place, but I was seriously worried about her safety.
The community that she is going to school in is a safe, closed-knit college town, but I still knew that anything could happen to anyone, anywhere, and at any time, regardless of the location. With news reports practically every week about the atrocities that go on, even in the safest, most respected cities and towns in our country, I knew that we had to make sure she was educated and prepared for anything that may have threatened her safety. She had taken self-protection classes in high school, and those offered some self defense techniques, but it wasn’t an extensive course. I didn’t feel confident that if something, or more specifically someone, threatened her safety, that she would be able to defend her self against an attack of any kind. After a little research to find things that she could use safely and efficiently against an attacker, it became apparent to me that there were not only hundreds and hundreds of products on the market, but those products can be very expensive. One can not put a price tag on safety, especially your children’s safety, but it didn’t have to outrageously expensive either.
A great and wonderful family friend told me about a site that she’d found quite by accident and had made a recent purchase for a niece after her graduation. She told me that if I took a look at this site, I would not have to go any further that that to find everything I needed for my daughter. i pulled up the urban self protection website that very evening, and as often is the case, my friend was exactly right. It was like a parent’s dream come true in regard to their child’s safety needs. Everything, and I do mean everything, that my daughter could possibly need to protect herself in every way was offered by this company. From room alarms to pepper sprays are available. And what’s even more outstanding is that you can get all of the necessary products together, along with reports on safety and safety issues especially related to college students.
The urban self protection package is amazing. The particular package that I chose was even designed with college girls in mind. The package contained 4 different kinds of pepper spray, one of which is a lipstick pepper spray. How brilliant is that! It also included 2 different alarms and a safe, along with an instructional DVD. it is just simply perfect and has given us a lot more peace of mind. Sending our daughter off to college still wasn’t an easy thing to do, but at least it wasn’t nearly as scary as I first imagined it to be. Protecting our little girl has always been our number one priority, and it is so wonderful to see that there is a company who also has our daughter, and every one else’s college-bound son or daughter, as their number one priority too. This outstanding urban self protection kit certainly allows me to sleep a little easier at night, and to a parent, that means the world.

Don’t let the bad guys win, don’t let them harm or kill you, don’t become a crime statistic. Take charge of your own safety. it is not just a good idea but every woman and man should know how to protect themselves and know how to use urban survival safety techniques. The sad facts are in the US someone is sexually assaulted every two minutes, and a violent crime happens every twenty seconds. Some things you can not stop, but you can respond the correct way to keep yourself safe and alive. Every time you turn on the news you hear about someone getting raped or robbed or both and you wonder if something like that could even ever happen to you or someone you love.
When my daughter came to me one day and told me she was going to a self defense course and asked me if I wanted to join her. Of course I did and I really felt the class was great. It gave us great defense techniques and told us the basics on how to get away from someone who sneaks up on you. We also learned that if at all possible don’t leave the location you are in and go somewhere else with the robber, because that is usually where they kill you and get rid of the body. Try to draw attention to your self and many times he will get embarrassed and leave because he won’t want anyone to see what he wants to do or get arrested.
The instructor also showed us some urban survival safety tips too. But when I wanted to find some more great safety techniques I went online to do a little research on the internet and did a search for urban survival safety. I was able to find some other great defense techniques for both myself and my daughter. That I also told my sister and her girls about them too. When I found your website, it had lots of great products and information about survival safety. I bought two of the Extreme college survival Kit, for my two nieces that were going to be starting college in the fall. This is such a great kit and has so many helpful things for everyone woman who walks alone form class to class at night or really anywhere she walks alone during the day or night. One of the main things is to be prepared for the unexpected, and never take any unnecessary chances. if you feel uncomfortable in any situation, they take your self out of it. Even if you make a mistake and a good man will understand, because he has sisters or mothers in his life and he would want them to be safe too.

Lets face it. This can be a pretty unsafe world for women out there. Sometimes its just hard to be a woman because you can be subjected to so many types of violent crimes. Well, the good news is that you don’t have to put up with that kind of thing anymore. If you look up self defense weapons women you will find that there is a plethora of weapons that women can use for self defense these days. You don’t have to rely on sheer brute force to get an attacker to leave you alone. Now you can choose from an array of self defense products that will help to keep you safe and will keep any potential attackers at bay.
The best part about these self defense weapons is you don not have to have years of training to use it. Almost any woman who wants to be sage can take advantage of these products. Some of the self defense weapons women can use to protect themselves are really nice because you can conceal them in your purse or even the palm of your hand. Take pepper spray for instance. If you feel like you are being followed or if someone is giving you a hard time then you can keep a small container of pepper spray on a key chain and that can disable a grown man right on the spot. You have to be sure that this type of self defense weapon is legal for you to use in your area and it can be a great alternative for women who are opposed to carrying something more serious like a gun. I recommend that most of my female friends carry this type of self defense weapon around with them because it requires little to no training to use it safely.
One of the other really popular self defense weapons women can use to keep themselves safe are stun guns. These are a little more serious than a pepper spray because they could cause harm to yourself if you do not have the right training. But, if you are really worried about being able to hit an attacker with a spray in the eyes then a stun gun is what you need to feel safe.
You can target an attacker anywhere on their body with a stun gun and it is a great self defense weapon for a woman because it will take them down. You won’t have to aim for any particular area and if you follow the directions then they will be completely disabled and this will allow you to get away from the scene unharmed. Make sure you choose your self defense weapon wisely and always get the right training on how to use it.

The following are realities of living in the most dangerous city in America…
When it comes to personal security products St. Louis, the truth is that most of us don’t really know where to begin when it comes to protecting ourselves and our family. The best place to begin is with personal security products. Personal security products St. Louis include things like personal alarms, rape whistles, sirens, mace, pepper spray, tasers, and other forms of personal self defense devices. these are the type of items that you would carry with you on a daily basis to make sure that you are protected.
Regardless of your regular routine, one of the most important things you do in order to make sure that your protected is to be aware. Being aware and seeing a potential attacker coming are just two of the best ways you can protect yourself from a potential attack. Being confident, keeping your head up high, holding your keys with one placed between your index and middle finger are all different tips that can really help make sure that you are well protected. Being protected is just one of the many ways to take care of your personal safety.
Other personal security products St. Louis include the type of products that you have around your home. Some of the best products are the ones that are the simplest to operate and the most effective. When it comes to the safety of your home, before considering a security alarm, the first thing you should consider is the locks on all of the doors and windows in your home. Looking for locks to be secure and fastened is a great way to make sure that your home is well protected. The second thing you should do is make sure that doggie doors and other pet entrances are far enough away from major entrances so that they don’t entice a home invader. Making sure that they are only just large enough for your pet to fit through will also help prevent an intruder from coming in your home that way.
Getting to the most obvious option, the home alarm system is a great tool. Not only is it a great way to protect your home, but signs indicating that it is in your home are a great deterrent against potential burglars. Making sure that your home is protected is as much about making sure your security alarm is armed when you need it and not letting the practice of setting it fall to the weigh-side because you start letting your guard down. Letting your guard down is the time when even the safest of homes is vulnerable to an attack.

Please consider the concern of one of our readers…
Now that my daughter is heading off to college I am starting to worry about her own personal safety. She will be attending school in a pretty safe area and the campus isn’t known for having a lot of crime, but since she is my little girl I tend to worry about stuff happening to her. I don’t want her to be walking home from the library at night and get attacked by some kind of robber or rapist who will take advantage of her. That is my worst nightmare and I want to prevent that from happening at all costs.
So, I am going to sit down with my daughter and have a chat with her about personal security devices and how she can use those to take care of herself while she was at school. Fortunately she is willing to listen to me about this type of stuff because she is nervous about being on her own, too. at first I told my daughter that I wasn’t the best idea because someone could end up using the gun on her. Plus, having a concealed weapon on a university campus probably isn’t legal. So we decided that we needed to look at personal security devices that she would be able to carry with her around the campus and also be able to use at a moments notice.
I found a web site that sells things that are catered to people like my daughter who are going off to college and I was able to find pepper spray and personal alarms that would help to keep her safe. I ordered those right away so we could practice using them before she left. When we got the personal security devices for my daughter we both started examining them to see how they worked and how she would be able to use them in the event of a dangerous situation. I told her that she would have to be careful with using these and to make sure that she knew how they worked. Since a burglary could occur at her apartment or she could be assaulted on her walk to class in the evening. I wanted her to be prepared to use these devices at the drop of a hat. She might not have a lot of time to react to a situation so I told her that if she was going to have to walk alone in a remote area that I wanted her to keep that pepper spray in her hands at all times. These are dangerous times, research online the many non-lethal personal security devices that’ll keep you or a loved one safe from attackers.

Thoughts and concerns about crime in the downtown St. Louis urban community…
Its amazing how much violence you see on the news these days. Its getting to be worse than actually violent movies sometimes. I know they’re just doing it to make people scared, but its working. I get nervous being outside my own house at night now. We’ve never had any kind of violent crime in my neighborhood, but I still can’t shake the feeling that we’re not safe anymore. I guess I need to do something about that because we can’t be living our lives in fear. I need to find a place where I can buy personal protection products St. Louis .
I’m not about to go out and get a gun or anything, but there are some far less lethal methods that are still capable of stopping someone from harming you. I’m not sure what exactly I want to get yet, but I figure I can go take a look and maybe get a professionals opinion on the matter. I suppose this is something I could talk to a cop about. I wonder how you go about getting advice from a cop. That’s not really something you call 911 for. I wouldn’t want to bother them at the police station either. They’re pretty busy as it is. I just need one of them to tell me what would be good to get and where I could buy personal protection products St. Louis.
Maybe I could just catch one on a break somewhere. I guess I could hang around donut shops for a while. I just need a good, reliable source of information about how I can buy something that will help me to protect myself should I end up in a dangerous situation.
I think it’s something that everyone should take the initiative to lean about at some point. I need something that I wouldn’t be afraid to use, and even my kids would be able to handle it. I don’t want them playing with it or anything, but if it came down to it I want them to be able to defend themselves too. Maybe I should sign everyone up for self defense classes. We could do that in addition to finding someplace to buy personal protection products St. Louis. That would be good for when we don’t have our personal protection gear with us for some reason. I imagine that would happen a lot when we are away from home. It would be nice to be able to defend myself with my bare hands too in case I drop whatever it is I’m to get or something. I thing that sounds like a good plan. I am going to do a little more research about all of this online.

The following story is from parent that understands these are dangerous times…
Our daughter was going away to college and we wanted to purchase an urban personal protection that would help keep her safe. My daughter is a healthy, beautiful girl and I know she can handle herself in most things, but you never know when you are going to come up against something or someone whose main goal is to do you harm. In this day and age you can never bee too safe or too careful. With all of the predators out there you have to be ready for them because they are ready to hurt you.
My daughter and I had taken a mother daughter self defense course and we both did really well. But finding an extra thing like urban personal protection would also help put my mind at ease. So I went to the internet to do a little research and search for anything related to urban personal protection. I found a lot of interesting facts that I really didn’t know about crime but none of them made me feel good at all. But they made me more determined to help my daughter to be prepared while she was out on her own.
We decided to take a fresher course in our self defense, and this class was a lot more intense than the one we had taken at the local high school. This one I believe really gave us both a better sense of what to do if we are ever approached by a stranger that planned on harming us. So when I was surfing online I found your website, it had loads of great information for both my daughter and myself to stay safe. The first thing I bought was the college survival kit for my daughter. It had so much great information in the packet and products in the kit that helped me give a great sense of security for my daughter. One of the other great things they had were the personal alarms systems. I bought three of the mace/alarm screamers one for my daughter and myself and one for my mother too.
I think all women should be prepared and aware of the possible dangers that women face. All in all I found your website so helpful in everything I needed to help my daughter get ready for college. I know some people would say I am over protected, but in reality I feel that I am only giving my daughter all of the tools to stay safe in a new area, where she may not be as familiar as she is when she is at home. Thanks to your website, I was able to get more information and protection not just for my daughter but for myself and my mother too.
